Electrical Engineer

Permanent employee, Full-time · Munich

Your mission

TURN2X is seeking a talented individual who possesses infinite curiosity. You'll partner with our chief technology officer to roll out a groundbreaking technology. Our holistic approach towards an e-NG plant that includes a renewable energy source (RES), an electrical grid connection, electrolyzers and a methanation reactor requires a complex energy system to optimize the power supply of this system. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact to the security of supply for (green) energy and to address 14.5% of the global CO2 emissions. Let's bring green molecules to the market!

Responsibilities
  • Planning and operation of electrical systems for electrolysis and methanation plants coupled with PV parks
  • Technical design and selection of electrical components, including inverters, transformers, and switchgears
  • Monitoring and optimizing energy transfer between PV parks, electrolysis, and methanation units
  • Integration and control of generation facilities and storage systems to ensure grid stability and meet network requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including project management, process engineers, and external partners
Your profile
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in the field of electrical engineering
  • M.Sc. Electrical Engineering
  • Technical understanding of electrolyzers and methanation processes
  • Ability to work autonomously while being a team player in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Flexible and focused on solutions
  • Organized and self-sufficient

What does success look like

  • Basic Design of the Power Electronics for our next Plant Generation developed after 3 months
  • Detail Design of the Power Electronics for our next Plant Generation is finished and the Basic Design for the overall is finished after 6 months
  • Engineering on-site implemented in our plants after 12 months

 Key Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of electrical design and operation for green hydrogen and synthetic methane production plants
  • Experience with high- and medium-voltage systems, protection schemes, and grid connection standards
  • Familiarity with control and automation systems for energy plants
  • Knowledge of PV technologies, electrolysis, and Power-to-Gas (PtG) processes
  • Understanding of electrical requirements and regulations in Spain and the EU
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills to address technical challenges efficiently
  • Ideally, knowledge of energy storage and power electronics
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • You are a self starter you can work independently and have the bigger picture in mind. Together with us, you want to see TURN2X grow
  • You are solution driven. We are working in a fast paced environment with adjusting goals. We don't fall in love with the process, we want to have the best outcome. Finding the best solution quickly is key.
  • You are a good communicator Jumping between tasks, while also working on your own projects requires to be excellent in communicating, asking for input or just sharing the latest insights you've got.
  • You want to have a positive climate impact You want to help industry to de-carbonise and play a role in the energy transition to net zero
About us
TURN2X developed a technology to produce renewable natural gas from green hydrogen and CO2. Renewable natural gas is CO2 neutral and 100% compatible to the existing natural gas infrastructure, so that you can use the 2M gas pipeline kilometers, the >1000TWh of natural gas storages and the existing customer infrastructure of burners and furnaces without any modification. We have a first commercial plant in Spain and around 2.7GW of pipeline built up. TURN2X is well financed and backed by the leading investors in the space.
We are looking forward to bringing TURN2X with you to the next level to increase energy security for Europe and address 14.5% of the global emissions.
We are looking forward to hearing from you!
